This is mainly for bad scans but yeah, it comes a long way especially if you’re like me and like deleting the backgrounds out of certain scenes to accentuate the character
i’ll only really be covering one thing, cause i’m lazy and its pretty much all i do to my caps Levels adjustment/Selective colour
So, we’ll go Levels adjustment/Selective colour, this just helps the scan look better honestly.
Firstly, slap open that levels dialogue box (assuming you have the picture you want to edit open, you should do that if you haven’t.)
Then ya wanna play around with the arrows on the diagram
Like this, don’t touch the middle(gray) one, only touch the black and white ones
Aim your black one sorta for the middle of the spire, thats what works for me, you can do it how ever you want too though, don’t worry about it too much as long as the picture looks good.
As you drag the black one closer to the right, all the darker parts of the image, will get darker, like so
Looks a lot cleaner now right? Nice
Now we move onto small edits you can stuff around with using your Brush Tool and selective colour, it basically stops this stuff from appearing
So just get your brush tool, this one
Make sure your colours are black, and that you’re on the background layer, otherwise youll actually reverse what youve done with the levelling, using the black brush tool on the levelling layer
With your selective colours, its similar to giffing i guess
Simple stuff right? This just like expands the black, so you can then go through and fix up small bits using the brush tool
like this stuff, ugly right?
I don’t really need to include a picture for this but basically just draw black over black until the border is all black and you can’t see any blemishes or anything.
OR if you’re lazy/lucky like I am,
Just use the Marquee tool and select the area you wanna darken
